The biggest issue with 4K seems to be whether or not they will do a transfer. I was reading that you can get up to 16K equivalent from film but I'm presuming that will be 70mm or similar sized negatives. Apparently CGI causes a lot of issues and it's normally done at 2K and upscaled due to huge rendering times and cost.
